1 week later....

Wednesday nite ,

I notice I have no comments for my last 2 entries, Frown is this because I am very boring? or indeed that no one is reading this apart from the cat and he cant use the keyboard very well? I don't know, but its not going to stop me waffelling shite when I get chance so there you go.

Its spring here in Sweden, once again someone has thrown the switch and the season flicks over with minimum transition time. it was 29C on our balcony yesterday in the sun, the wasps are buzzing, flowers are blooming and everyone is smiling..... Its been a short winter this year, just 2 months of snow really and only a couple of weeks of constant sub minus temperature. The water between the Old town and Slussen down in the city never even froze this year. First time Me or Malin has seen (or not seen) that. I worry a lot about global warming, but I think its better to be bringing my Son up here than in Spain or Africa, Sweden will fare quite well, but the country's that are hot already are proper screwed.

And along with the sunshine comes all the guys that decide they are going to fix there car up for the summer, so it goes mental at work. Usually at this time of year Id be working till 7or 8pm 2 or 3 nites a week, but as I collect Luka from daycare at 4pm I have been starting at 7am instead, which is fine, and its nice to be able to enjoy the sun in the afternoon, but Jeeeezus I hate getting up at 6am!!!

The works kickoff was good fun, our team building was apparently more effective than Steve McClarens, but lets not go there.........

The food was great, the beer was plenty and the taxi ride home was taken in a deep sleep... Good nite all round (except for arguing with the wife!)

   Till next time folks,

    Don't feed the Swine!

All cats are grey in the dark, but mine is grey in the light also!

Its Tuesday before payday and Im broke!!

The only consolation is that almost everyone I know is broke also, for the benefit of anyone not living here in happy Sweden , everyone gets paid on the 25Th of the month, or the Friday before if the 25Th falls on the weekend which means that the bars are very quiet the weekend before payday , and you cant move for drunk Swedes singing Eurovision songs at the top of there voices on the weekend after. Its all very civilized actually , not the singing , but the bills all arrive during the week leading up to payday so its pretty easy to keep on top of everything and there are no nasty shocks half way through the month.

On the subject of drinking and singing, we have our works "kick off" on Saturday, this involves some team building exercises, and a chance to discuss ideas about work in an informal atmosphere from 9 until 3 (paid at overtime rate) then a trip into town , a game of boulle , a slap up feed and loads of beer on the company (unpaid) This is to prepare us for the busy season ahead and to create a better working environment . it also usually leaves you feeling like you have been in a fight and lost for about 3 days afterwards, but its all good, if there is one thing I like more than beer, its beer when someone else is paying :-)

Now I'm off to bed, its almost 11PM after all, and in my best Homer Simpson mode, I shall try to have sweet dreams.............."mmmmmmmmmmmmmm free beer!!!!"....

long time no bloggie bloggie

Hi folks,

sorry its been so long, I just hope that anyone that has been reading this still is reading this, if u see what I mean.....

Its been an interesting few weeks, we have all been over to England for Grahams Wedding to Clair (see pictures on main site) an altogether great day, my only grumble is that Kieran didn't make it, he couldn't get cover for the bar..... Well I suppose he only had a year or so to find cover and if we can attend from Stockholm I think its pretty piss poor that he couldn't make it from Walsall, but never mind, The Weather was great and we celebrated Graham and Clair's happy day in traditional style (DRUNK , see pictures on main site!)

We left Luka with my Nanny Kate and Grandpa Tony while we were down in Plymouth, and I think he had almost as much fun as we did, although he wasn't shy about sharing his germs and left a trail of flu victims behind him where ever he went, oh and he learned to drive

The weather here is wonderful at the moment, Its sunshine and blue Sky's and all the snow has gone wherever it is the snow goes when it goes ,  so Luka can run around outside now without having to be bundled up like a mini Michelin man, I just hope it stays like this all the way into summer, but Swedish winter can trick you so another bout of -20c and snow is not impossible.

Ive been wondering when I was going to get called into the office to discuss my new position with the MD at work, but nothings been said since I started at the end of January , I presumed that he was going to discuss it at the annual pay row at end of this month, but found out today that the reason nothing has been said is because he didn't read the memo with the announcement of my promotion on it.... somethings in Sweden are just as slack as England... but any pay increase should be retroactive so it might be a nice little bonus Laughing

Anyway, my new weeks resolution is to blog at least 3 times a week so there should be more of this nonsense from now on,  until then
