Happy Easter everybody....
Well, its been a pretty poor 3 times a week Ive been writing this, but Ive always been a bit Idle like that, Its having anything worth saying to say, so to to speak thats the problem, Its been a busy old time the last 2 weeks or so, both at work and in real life, Luka came down with a cold for a change and has been snotty, coughing, throwing up, nappy rash, and drooling like a 'care in the community Que jumper' and he doesn't mind sharing his misfortunes, (fortunately I only got the cold, cough and drooling bits, no Nappie rash as yet), but with us being sick, and all the drinking and eating thats involved with Swedish easter, Well, there just ain't enough hours in the day.....
On the subject of Swedish Easter, this is the 5th Ive had over here I think, but it still strikes me as "foreign", (in the nicest possible way), its traditional to bring budding twigs into the house and stick em in a vase, tie really brightly colourd feathers to the end and then painting eggs and hanging them from the twigs also. It actually all looks pretty festive, and its really nice when the buds come out and there is a bit of green in the room after all the long cold dark nights and snowy days..... The easter eggs are a bit bizarre also, no Fat kid making Galaxy supa-eggs filled with more cholesterol here, You buy a hollow easter egg, (cardboard or plastic..) and put a present inside, Luka got a really big one, filled with loads of plastic wild animals from a Friend of ours, )which made our little one with nuts and raisins for her son look a bit sad), but what a good idea, give the kid something they will enjoy and thats healthy..... I however received a plastic egg full of sweets from work, and pretty much yammed the lot.....
....And We went to the first Barbecue of the year.... and I took my first "outside" beer of the year, (Its actually illegal to drink or sit outside a bar before the first of April, no matter how nice the day.?.?. funny old country this!!) and we had a dinner party, Swedish easter dinner is a bit like Xmas dinner, except that there is no turkey involved, and no Queens speech, but its washed down with loads of wine and you are too stuffed to move afterwards, oh, and apparently there is some religious connection also.
Leaving Easter aside (Midsummer is the next weird thing coming up... more about that later in the year)... Malin is out at the local karaoke, (which doesn't feel foreign at all)... there are are 4 Chicks from Norrland, (where Malin is from, sort of like the Swedish Scotland, Its way up north, cold, they talk funny and don't like southerners as a rule....) and 1 chick from Skåna (which is like the Swedish Southern counties, Its way down south, warm, they talk funny and don't like northerners as a rule), They have had a reunion dinner tonight (Ida we haven't seen since last June and Malin the Skåna chick we haven't seen since midsummer 2003, not that I remember it!!), and I was asked to leave the house for a couple of hours (which way was it to the pub?) and now I'm Baby and dog sitting, and the girls are out on the town (well, its more like the New Fullbrook Inn, Circa. 1990 actually ;-) )

From left to right, Malin(not mine), Stina. Malin(mine), Ida and Bettan
Anyway, I'm feeling the need for bed, which is a bugger since Oskar the cat is ripping round the place in pursuit of Larry, Bettans Chinese naked (gay ) dog, or perhaps its the other way round, whatever, they are having fun, but I'm gonna have to lock them out of the bedroom if I'm gonna get any Sleep, I just hope they don't break too much...
Always wear sunscreen folks
