A shitty business!!

Hi folks,

I just have to tell about a little incident that has unrolled over the past week.

For those that don't know, I take Luka to his Daycare at around 7.30 every morning and now Malin is extremely pregnant I also finish work at 4pm and pick him up. His daycare is on the commuter train route to my work, one stop from work and 2 stops from home so its no big problem to jump off and then catch the next train as it is only 3 min. walk to the daycare.

Well, last Thursday when I dropped him off some kind soul had left a large steaming jobbie in the middle of the lift. not very pleasant and a bit odoursom  but no great problem as I could drive the pram wheels either side.

Friday arrived and the number 2 was still there , still stinking. 1 day with no cleaners, no big issue.

No Daycare Sat. or Sun. so no poo reports for these days.

Monday morning, 7.30am. (Day 4)

The chocolate log had now been kicked around some, making it difficult to steer around and the smell was starting to get pretty bad. I take a photo, because I can.

Tuesday (Day 5) , Luka comments on the brown stinkys covering the floor, Daddy gets pretty annoyed and calls SL , (the transport company) and "Logs" a complaint

Wednesday (Day 6) No sign of cleaners in the lift and no sign of the brown horror drying out or reducing in smelliness. Luka says "poooooo Daddy"  holding his nose, Daddy calls SL once more and explains reasonably that it is a health hazard having a shit smeared lift next to a daycare and could someone PLEASE do something about it. Especially as they had repainted the Station walls that morning but ignored the state of the lifts. I am told in reassuring tones that someone is on the job and it will be sorted ASAP.

Thursday (Day 7)

Luka finds it quite funny that the chocolate sausage is spreading out wider and wider with no decrease in pungentness. Daddy disagrees and makes a third call to SL customer service. I told them that after making 3 phone calls, if the shit was still there by the time I picked Luka up at 4pm then by God I was going to get a bucket of water and clean the thing up myself, making sure that someone took lots of photographs and then send them to every Newspaper in Stockholm with a report on how SL does not care if there lifts are a #¤%*ing health hazard to their customers.

By 4.10pm the lift smelled all pretty like pine trees and had a gleaming floor once more.  Laughing

And the moral is, if you want to get something done, cut  the crap, and go straight for the swearing!!

Love to one and all as always,

 Lee.

Greenish fingers?

Hi folks,

A very strange thing has occurred, Now as a rule Me and the Missus have the polar opposite of green fingers, in fact the only things I have ever had any success growing have been cactus and the same plant the Greeks use as hedgerow, both pretty hardy and able to handle some abuse, but about 18 Months ago we were given a pair of Orchids, one by Malins Mom and one from our neighbours (and good friends) Kirsi and Jocke. My first thought was "Poor flowers, they seem so pretty, its a shame to kill them by giving them to Us" but Lo!! a miracle!! they are not only still alive but have flowered again! with more and bigger flowers than last time.

(note the flower on the right held up with the stick from a McDonalds balloon)

I can only surmise that they have managed to cross-breed them with Dandelions or  we are secretly horticultural geniuses. Strange but true!

Otherwise things over here are pretty good, Luka has a Real good dose of the terrible 2's , we were nose to nose this morning "discussing" why he couldn't walk to the train because we were a little Late, and It would be a good Idea to sit in the pram. He's pretty funny actually, He looks you straight in the eye as he throws his teddy/plate of food/antique Ming vase to the floor when he doesn't get his own way. I believe this stage lasts for about 17 years.

Malin is Swell, literally, with only 3 weeks left she's  pretty much ready to pop,

I have been told if we are to have any more Kids then its my turn. I had a think about it and decided Ill probably have the snip later this year (Now that's something I WILL Blog about!!!!!) 2 small hooligans is surely enough trouble!!

The only other thing I really have interesting to tell right now is of a Small altercation I have been having at work with one of my workmates. I posted  a comedy notice on the wall of our department last week and he placed a little notice underneath it like so----

The Swedish Speakers will understand, but for the benefit of non- Swedes,

"förtäckta hot på arbets platsen?" translates as "hidden threats in the workplace?"

"Det är inte roligt!" means "that is not funny!"

Now, knowing that Monty Python and Mr Bean are very big in Sweden I don't think this is a cultural thing, Perhaps the poor fellow just has some German ancestry. But being the kind guy I am I have promised to buy him a sense of humour for Christmas this year!

  Keep Smiling folks....

Sunday Sunday sunday............

Hi folks,

Its Sunday Evening, and true to form Im bleedin knackerd,  Im not sure at what point in your life you stop being so tierd all the time, is it when the kids become teenagers and dont rise till after lunch so you can have a sleep in yourself, or is it too late by then and you become one of these old folks that gets up at 5am regardless?? I dont know, but Ive got a funny feeling its not going to get any better with the additional member of the family we have orderd for arrival in about 5 weeks....

The last few weeks have been quite busy getting the apartment ready for the new arrival, we have bought a nice (nearly) new pram in readiness, It was a steal, and the only reason we got it is that I answerd the advert within half an hour of it going out, apparently it got dozens of replies--

I was even more pleased when I went to pick it up and the last owner realised she had forgotten a bottle of babymilk in the holder from about 6 weeks ago,  she was so embarrassed about the smell that she knocked me another 200SEK  off the price (about 20 quid )  it cost about 50p  in washing powder to fix that problem so being the tight wad I am I consider this a good result!!!

We also bought Luka a new bed as he was having to fold himself in half to get into his old cot, My first plan was to build him one but then I found one on the internet almost exactly like I had planned to build, all the bits were there, but no assembly instructions, ensuring 2 nights of fun and games with screwdrivers and hammers

( Malin didn't want me to use this picture due to some scruffy tights/no skirt issue, but being a photoshop wizard  I have made some almost invisible alterations!!)

The bed is still a bit high for the little fella, but this is a bonus as it is helping delay the inevitable night time awakenings for glasses of water, he can get up and down in the daylight but is too nervous at night :-)

I better post this now as Malin has read it and is looking at me a bit funny......

   Love to One and all
